Some verbal cannons shoot their load,
they target hearts, man's hopes erode.
And in confusion rant and rage,
and act like beasts confined and caged.
It seems some men aspire to thrones,
where they will rule like powerful drones.
And yet some men want joy with peace,
with riches blessed and lust on lease.
But I will long for sober seats,
where wings of grace make me replete.
Self righteous rage cannot be calmed,
when wisdom's promise can be harmed.
Man's hearts will never be contrite,
if souls will build a haughty site.
If we will think we have no faults,
with sand construct foundation's vaults.
The bible teaches men will fail,
when backsides lift their tawny tail.
How do I know? I know I'm prone
can't lift my eyes by falsehood's crone.
I fill my mind with humble thought,
I've been purchased, with blood been bought.
Without God's love I'm just fate's lout,
I'm full of faith, yet fringed by doubt.
My worth is not in what's achieved
or by my hand I've been reprieved.
I boast in nought, but I believe,
and in Christ's cross my sin's relieved.

There are so many voices out there, some contradicting others, accusing, slandering, misleading. Indeed what is truth? I've already chosen my focus, every word from any worldly mouth does not matter, I have chosen the perfect standard. My advice...remember where your hope lies!
