Mornings give me that sense of renewal,
That I've been given yet one more day;
To love and be loved
To see and be seen
To laugh and share laughter some way.
Somehow those moments just before dawn,
In quiet, fresh air, dogs bark in the distance,
I'm reminded that darkness
With its foreboding gloom
Will fall to light, daily, losing resistance.
Somehow, to me, a sunrise gives promise
That a new day will bring good to my life
I find in my morning prayer
I'm encouraged to reach
For new levels of victory o'er day's strife.

Writing Prompt |
Write any type of poem for spiritual encouragement. |
Author Notes
I'll always be a morning person. I am long retired, but I still wake up around 5. It makes no sense to me, but I love the sunrise, the coffee, a spiritual moment, and, oh yes, some quality time with the dogs. My wife sleeps in which is another great thing!
