Mother screaming, dad dreaming
Children laughing, dogs barking
Grandma rocking in her chair
Grandpa, hands on hips solid stare
Gifts galore stacked on floor
Dad's packing our V8 Ford
Prawns, leg of ham and sliced pork
Christmas pudding tastes so great
Fill the Esky to the brim
Ice on top stop the hot
A bottle of beer for grandma dear
Whisky a treat, drink it neat
Soft drinks for thirsty kids
Mum with her Pimms - grinning
Car doors slam one by one
Family singing smiley songs
V8 roar -dust galore
Heading for sandy straits
Picnic spot by the sea
Surf and sand for you and me
The Royal wave as flies buzz by
Mozzies mingle - stinging tingle
Kids off swimming; peace and quiet
Christmas lunch over, snooze in sight
