I don’t think that it is a secret
That I dislike wearing a mask
But since we must, and for the record,
I wear them without being asked.
I realize they protect others
From something I may have (or not)
So I, without protest, will wear them,
But, wear make-up? Well, tommy-rot!
I’ve always had “face on” in public
Without it, I even scare me
But now, that we have to wear face masks,
I don’t. I am now make-up free!
And speaking of free, it’s a wonder!
I get up; I get dressed; I go!
No wasted time putting on make-up;
With mask and sunglasses, I know
That nobody will recognize me
But if they catch me unawares,
And say, “Gosh you really look sickly
I’ll “eye-smile” and answer, “Who cares?”

Last night I woke up from a bad dream,
And I have to say it was weird—
My face had been covered up so long,
The bottom half had… disappeared!
