This year, life seemed to let us down.
A virus came along,
so we were forced to wear a mask
and stay at home too long.
It seems we’ve fallen in a trap,
and can't seem to escape.
People continue getting sick.
Some are in dreadful shape.
The news we hear just makes us tired,
Our country’s had its fill.
The nation seems divided on
what's happening on the Hill.
Then when we think things can't get worse,
with friends we can’t agree.
We feel we’re right, and they are wrong,
and that may always be.
We can’t despair for we should know
that change will come at last.
The sunrise always follows night.
In time, this will have passed.
The wind will change and blow away
storm clouds that fill our skies,
and once again we'll see the world
through brighter, clearer eyes.
We pray the dark will disappear,
and we will see the light,
and feel the joy of life again,
and gloom won’t dim our sight.
Our days are full of constant change.
which ebbs and flows like tide.
Our journey here is quite the trip,
but surely worth the ride.
