To bring war?
Why did Jesus come? by royowen

They thought He came to bear a sword,
untie them from the tyrant's cord.
revealing as He walked in peace,
sin's violence He would release.

He said to Peter, "Bear no arms,
for I am here to show love calms.
In violence this world will take,
and kill my body on a stake"

This world you see will one day die,
it has no future - God can't lie.
For even saints who use the sword
have not placed minds upon their Lord.

If God is not your refuge strong,
then you don't know what's right from wrong.
Says God, "True saints have followed me,
peace in the heart can set men free.

Author Notes
Jesus was born for one purpose, to reconcile man with God, through the violent act of crucifixion, which is how we all deserve to die. This man who walked unarmed, in peace, to reveal the heart and love of God. And yet men will arm themselves against their neighbour.
Countries arm themselves, as they say, as a deterrent to other countries. But I wonder, if even that is true? But I can understand that. Very few, if any, western democracies, have liberal gun laws and certainly not weapons that could bring down a bull elephant. But among it's own citizens? Weapons were made for one purpose only, to kill.
Matthew 26:52 "Then Jesus said unto him. "Put up again thy sword into its place: for all they that take up the sword shall perish by the sword."
