History can be unkind
to quiet men like me.
But I hope
beyond all hope
it'll grant me a reprieve.

For if history
could read a mind
then guilty mine would be,
of making plans
to take a stand
against this tyranny.

But history is not so blind,
it sees with clarity,
the tired fool
and traitor who'll
bow to the enemy.
