Lingering Memories

by jaybird1

I can't erase you from my mind.
A greater love I'll never find.
Our wish, always stay together,
through love's sweet and stormy weather.

Now you must go, you must depart
and leave me with a broken heart.
Your time on earth was much too brief,
as I hang on, amid my grief.

Though sadness lingers through the years
and often brings me down with tears;
Yet, my heart fills with joy and pride,
as I recall my loving bride.

Those memories will never fade-
So precious were the ones we made.

I still feel a need to write poems of love for my long departed wife. It
comforts me.- jaybird
