Stormy times

Betwixt a rock and a hard place
we humans are running blind
and it feels certain far too many
of us are falling behind,

Each, in our ways,
we are all paddling our life rafts
against the swift current
we seemed caught in downdrafts
which seems sort of daft!

Our vision for tomorrow or the day beyond
have, in so many cases come and gone,
we have rubbed our secreted crystal balls
which have left us with no clear answer at all.

So, to one all, I have a new scheme that
came to me while I had a dream,
I have ordered new glasses that guarantee a punch,

If they deliver on this promise, I have a hunch
that I will see more clearly
what each of us seeks, more dearly.

An X-ray vision peeking into the future
to marvel at our human destiny,
to sneak a look at some calm we don't see
to share with everyone before we all mutiny.
