Ode to Adultery

by lancellot

Fiction The author has placed a warning on this post for sexual content.
In darkness and shadows, they roam.
In the dead of night, they leave home.
~
Absence and lust ignites their flame.
Lying to themselves, it’s only a game.
Falling in love was never their aim.
Both knowing monogamy is lame.
~
They share bodies without a name.
Feeding passions they cannot tame.
Choosing erotic delights over shame.
Lying and hiding to avoid the blame.
~
Telling spouses, "I’ll be home late.
Have dinner alone, no need to wait."
Better no one knows about their date.
Yet, opening the windows, daring fate.
~
Thrusting like beasts without refrain,
Chasing orgasms they cannot sustain.
Doing things their spouses find insane,
Going ‘til raw and limp organs remain.
~
Under the shower imagining its rain,
Washing their bodies of sexual stain.
Looking for bruises, relishing the pain.
Parting and pondering what did we gain?
~
Making it home safe in their sin,
While scheming of doing it all over again.
