Evening approaching awaiting moonrise.

Awaiting Moonrise

sinking sun splashes
purple sky with threads of gold
behind tall trees hangs

luminescent moon
waiting its turn to ascend
spread soft silver light

with millions of stars
as heavenly companions
twinkling across time

on earth we enjoy
crickets harmonizing as
frogs croak the base line
