Soldier's life

We know they bravely fight
Daily show their strength and might
Sandy winds blow in desert blight
IED bursts glow-make darkness bright
With each bomb pop grows the warrior's fright

Through this they keep their hope
Must dismiss doubt - learn to cope
With love ones missed - letters they grope
Think of a hug, kiss, game of jump rope
And look to the bliss of returning home

internal cross rhyme starts in second syllable of first line and jumps up a syllable
in each line But jumps back in the last line
Lines go from 6 to 10 syllables
