Mind Prisoner

I’m a prisoner of my mind. She’s gone. I’m alone, afraid to open the door. My heart tumbles, my sweaty hand slips from the handle. I feel pains in my chest, begin hyperventilating and worse stirs of diarrhea. Oh, God, why this panic? Am I possessed? Is this the devil at work?
The doctors say it’s a “fight or flight” reaction to being without my wife’s support. Tried Prozac and Zoloft they didn’t work. No help either from deep breathing or focused meditation. I’m locked, anxiety of the unknown rages. My only escape is at night, asleep, dreaming of her.
