I want to see my husband.
My husband, 46 years
by jusylee72
I want to see my husband of 46 years in the hospital.
"Covid", they call it.
19.......
.
Like there have been 18 others.
I was out of town when he was admitted, seeing my grandchildren.
"Let me see him", I say, "It will help him."
Security won't let me. Too dangerous they say.
I call him.
"I'll be fine," interspersed with coughing,
"I'll see you soon. Stay home dear. I will be fine"
I want to see him. Remind him of our life.
A brief phone call, "We're Sorry."
I see him at his funeral.
My husband of Forty-six years.
