Ode to a Suffering Daughter

I feel profound sorrow for my daughter in daily pain My eyes water when I think of her relentless suffering Headaches, backaches and fatigue a constant drain No pills or therapy capable of providing any buffering   Wish there would be found a magic cure Proverbial silver bullet to ease endless hurt Still she soldier’s on despite her discomfiture Teaching in spite of this agonizing hair-shirt   Every day I pray to the Lord above for my daughter Dream researchers will soon discover a remedy End her struggle with miraculous curing water Causing her agony to fade from each extremity   I admire her fight despite all she must endure Please, God, help scientists find a silver cure
