A Rondel for the contest

Moon Rises

by June Sargent

Rondel Poetry Contest Winner
Full moon rises on a hot August night
as music and laughter fill the air
Casting her spell - all lovers beware -
with stardust searching hearts to ignite

Birds enchanted by the magical sight
swoop and swirl with grace and fanfare
Full moon rises on a hot August night
as music and laughter fill the air

Dance to the rhythm of notes that excite
Banish all worries and thoughts of despair
Ending the day with exuberant flair
Know that most things will end up alright
Full moon rises on a hot August night
