Jesus' lament...

by royowen

Now If I cried an ocean dear
would it reach your door?
Or would compassion move your heart
to reach this lone seashore?

And if I cried a million tears
what difference would it make?
Would my shed tears just cleanse the Earth
and could all lust be slaked.

And if, my child, I cried for years,
would you be drawn to me?
And if I died in wretch-ed pain
is that in vain for thee?

And yet I've done these things and more
because I love you still.
And yet you're free to choose fate's path
and see my tears lakes fill.
