A Journey

My Small Boat

by tfawcus

Tonight, I journey to the stars
In my small boat that has no oars,
Rudderless and out of mind;
A journey of a different kind.

I set my sails, there is no wind,
Yet they are full and billowing,
By darkness driven, nothingness,
An utter calm, a silk caress

That draws me on beyond life's care,
To fractal space, a crystal shower,
And, from the void, there comes a voice
Most musical; a small, sweet noise.

It echoes, wordless, through the spheres;
Diminishing, it disappears,
And all reverberation's still;
A glimpse of heaven—
or of hell?
