The Shepherd

As I watch my white sheep eat and gently sleep on green pasture, I’m serene and full of pride for fulfilling my Father’s tasks. Lead my flock, when weather is harsh, out of harm’s way — home at last. |

Sijo is a Korean traditional poetic form that emerged in the Goryeo period dynasty 918 to 1392 was a period of intense religious fervor and is still written today. Bucolic, metaphysical, and cosmological themes are often explored. Syllable count: theme 3, 4,4,4; elaboration 3,4,4,4; counter-theme 3,5 and completion 4,3.
