A tribute to our beautiful visitors.

Spirit of the Hummingbird

a flash of vibrant colors
catches my wandering eye
a hummingbird dances through the air
on wings of pure joy

a curious look with dark eyes
he peers into my soul
intently searching my spirit
for love or malice

the moment our spirits join
he shares the freedom of pure flight
darting through the air
with unequaled grace

tasting the nectar of beauty
dashing from bloom to bloom
pollinating the blossoms of eternity
for those willing to cherish them

visualizing his arduous journey
through countless lands
filled with voracious predators
letting the spirit guide his way

sadness grips me
when our joining subsides
but for a moment
i knew the spirit of a hummingbird
