This work has reached the exceptional level

Corona Virus Frightens Me

This strange pandemic quickly came,
killed umpteen thousands globally.
No cure exists; disease persists.
Corona Virus frightens me.

Since early Spring when quarantined,
I've stayed inside religiously.
But though I always wear a mask,
Corona Virus frightens me.

"Safe-distancing" is still my creed,
yet others strut most foolishly
in crowds despite what experts warn.
Corona Virus frightens me.

More deaths, new cases everyday.
The numbers rise prolifically.
I shudder at what's still ahead.
Corona Virus frightens me!
