A Retourne for the Potlatch Challenge

Waterfall

by June Sargent

Refreshing as a waterfall
amidst a searing summer drought,
our words can soothe a sun-parched soul
with misty spray of cooling drops.

Amidst a searing summer drought,
one can survive if strength's renewed.
Each leaf and petal thus revived
no longer suffers from neglect.

Our words can soothe a sun-parched soul,
when someone needs encouragement.
Like plants created by our God,
we thrive when given nourishment.

With misty spray of cooling drops
cascading over jagged rocks,
we heal those bruised and in deep pain,
infusing love like summer rain.
