War Kiss

'War was over. It was 1945. People everywhere. Horns honking. People singing.
Then it happened. Grabbing a pretty girl in a nurse's uniform on Times Square, I planted a big sloppy kiss, right on her bright red lips.'
'Granpa,' twelve- year -old Jamie exclaimed. ' You kissed a stranger? What about social distancing?'
Granpa stared into the distance, lost in his own thoughts, 'Buddy, you guys live in a changed world.'
'Sure do, granpa. Why go to Times Square when we can blow virtual kisses?' Jamie answered.
'Was this what it was all for?' Granpa wondered, feeling a little sad.
