Tears

Etheree Poem Contest Winner 
Tears
cannot
erase  hurt
nor can they give
relief from life’s pain –
But  they  can  wash  away
love’s ashes on a scorched heart,
Granting  it  grace  to  once  again
suffuse itself in the sunshine’s warmth
and breathe in the brightness of life’s promise
