Excellent
Not yet exceptional. When the exceptional rating is reached this is highlighted
I was born with a competive nature.

Doing my Best

by HarryT

Being a first son, I deeply felt I had to
Do my best to receive smiles from my folks…
When my brother came along 18 months later the
Competitive spark was kindled -- I had to be
Better at everything the two of us did. Favorite was
Making him race me, being older, I knew I would win.

In high school baseball and basketball entered in
Being of small stature being good was not enough
Being best at each sport was my never-ending quest
Competitive, my nature, through high school and beyond
My goal, always to be the best I could be, drove me on
In my chosen profession eventually worked to achieve a
Doctorate in Education, a superintendency and ultimately a
University administrative position.

Now I’m retired, even after two heart attacks, my competitive
Urge still burns. Teach in a senior program, spend hours on
Presentations, want great evaluations from those who attend
Lastly, to satisfy my cravings for action, bowl three times per week
A lesson, I confess I have learned, the camaraderie among teammates and
Friendships with other bowlers makes my life worth living, but
I’ll share a little secret; I still want to win.
