Whole Wheat Bread

Oh no!
That stops you dead
in your tracks rich
unmistakable aroma
freshly baked bread!

There is no denying oneself
of a thick-slice slathered with
butter and blackberry jam...
just thinking gets the juices
salivating for some, right out
of the oven, piping hot bread.

Having a bad day ...
Gather the ingredients
Let us jump right in...

Come on put on a happy face
two packs active dry yeast,

but, do not get caught in measuring
naught with exact precision
five cups Whole wheat flour,

Followed by an elbow test
of the warm, not - hot
three cups of water,
Now, to sweeten your treat that
will make your bread so neat
one-third cup of sweet spun honey,

Followed swiftly with a generous
one table not a teaspoon of salt,
better to butter than to not
so, two tablespoons for best
results.

Last but certainly not the least
to excite the yeast will be
a good measure of three-plus
a half cup of bread flour.

So, now that we are clear
that this had brought full
the measure of cheer,

Mix it, rest it, knead it
rest it again, cover it
let it double,
thirty minutes should do!

Divide it into three!
One for you, one for me
one for whomever you please

Then bake it at
three hundred fifty degrees,
twenty-five minutes just
tick ... tick ... ticking away~

Wow! What a great day!
