Self-Analysis
Man in the Mirror
Man in the Mirror
Contemplating our condition
Is how we do evolution
We examine intuition
And activate recognition
When we don't know what to expect
We search knowledge for direction
We meditate and we reflect
To choose a path and take action
We use templates like a mirror
Each time we look, we find error
Our ignorance creates terror
We hope to find a truth-bearer
Somewhere, sometime, truth will be known
It doesn't come from some "outside"
Truth is within and must be grown
To overcome our foolish pride
Not many souls in history
Can help us solve life's mystery
One is Jesus in ministry
His truth was skewed by sophistry
Truth is quite clear, Spirit's endless
We live in our own universe
Only past dies, that's a promise
Only ego can make things worse
Buddhas contain much more meaning
Without ego intervening
Enough with all this vain preening
Start putting lies through a screening
Our own Ego creates the lies
Because it has bad attitude
Look at our life with loving eyes
Let's bend our heads in gratitude
We've three levels to recognize
In the mirror before our eyes
The highest one is to be wise
When we're not there, we agonize
We ache to know - to find a way
For us to reach our ideal state
Our fondest wish is for that day
It's here and now -- communicate
Wisdom also has three levels
Wisest, wiser and lastly wise
Within these states, there's no devils
We just observe our Mind/Space size
Middle level -- maturity
To rise remove impurity
Then we can know with certainty
Our soul will have security
The three levels for growing up
Define our mental passages
From curious youth through life's windup
Interpreting our messages
Lowest level is animal
Survival first in this mammal
Actions taken are passional
Proven to be quite trainable
Ego lives in humanity
Always worries about the grave
Spirit is pure divinity
It's heaven-sent and no one's slave
The image you are discerning
Is telling you what you're yearning
Prepare yourself for some learning
Eternal life you'll be earning
