Consoling someone who has lost their mother.

Returning to Mother

by Puzzle

The pain radiated through her thick skin.
Tears carried grief and love from her soul.
Loss of her mother began to take toll,
on her spirit and mind. The decline begins.
Gone are the days when her heart used to sing,
sweet songs of comfort making her whole.
A feeling of emptiness she needs to console,
as sorrow creeps up and despair sinks in.

My heart cringed in misery watching fate;
Her mother's destiny, one we all meet.
I speak of the day her heart feels complete.
Rejoice in the heavens, on clouds up high.
Her lifetime, so long, an eternity to wait.
She rests in my arms and softly cries.

Empathy with Grief writing prompt entry
Writing Prompt
Write a poem of any style that shows empathy for the grief of another human being. There are no line length requirements.

This is a story of a two friends. One has just lost her mother. The other one is consoling her. She reminds her that one day they will be reunited in heaven. But for now to just find comfort in her arms and cry.

I tried to write this story in the poetic form of a Petrarchan Sonnet. I am just learning poetic forms, so please be kind. I am definitely open to suggestions for improvements though.

This particular sonnet has two parts, the problem and the resolution. So in the first part I speak of her mothers passing. The second part is me trying to console her.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
