Stockmen's Stories

by LisaMay

5-7-5 Contest Winner

Stockmen share stories

by the flickering campfire:

old flames, burnt fingers.

Writing Prompt
Write a 5-7-5 Poem! This is a poem with only three lines. The catch is there is a strict syllable count. The first line has 5 syllables, second 7, third 5 again.

5-7-5
Contest Winner

Note:

Stockmen are the Downunder equivalent to cowboys.

An 'old flame' is a term for an ex girlfriend or a past love.

'Getting your fingers burnt' means that something has gone wrong and you are being punished.

Pays one point and 2 member cents.
