Excellent

A dog takes cover on a hot summer day.

Hot Dog Day (no pun intended)

Old dog lies in shade,
Knows it's a hot summer day.
Tail swatting away the flies.

Kids stop to pet him,
Panting tongue is hanging out.
They bring a fresh water bowl.

Writing Prompt
Write a sedoka poem. A sedoka consists of two unrhymed three-line stanzas, each with a syllable count of 5 - 7 - 7.
Often these stanzas go at the same subject from different perspectives, but that is not a requirement.
