Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
I love my only sister.

To My Sister

by poetwatch

You can always count on mother
To lead you on the straight path.
She's walked where you walked;
Yet, she never stopped you from going your way.

Her advice were just golden words,
Her love was unconditional.
Right or wrong you were her baby.

So many mistakes and so many tears,
A floodway of memories.
Still, we have those tender feelings
Of love. Like a pellucid melody
Pleasing and perfect to the heart.

Where are you mom?
Are you greeting your daughter
As she makes her way towards you?

I told her yesterday to tell you, "I love you."
Did she deliver the message?

It's not that I'd not tell you myself,
It's that I have to wait a while.
My watch still keeps on ticking,
Your daughter's stopped.

All I have now are memories mom,
Some good and some bad.

Yet, while she laid in bed
I made her smile. I took out my phone
And showed her the hibiscus she gave me.
It was in full yellow bloom.
She did not move, but murmured.

She was still there,
A mother of three with grandchildren.
She made me smile as tears found their way.

I showed her what she was to me,
A pink rose blooming in my garden.
She murmured once more
and looked at me.
I kissed her and said goodbye.

My sister passed away this morning at 4:00 a.m.

Say hello to grandma also, sister.
