My Muse Contest Winner 

Words whisper then bravely wander, manoeuvred to showcase their part – a homage to how my father lodged literature in my heart. He taught me how to love language, to laugh and to think; to express my inner thoughts and my feelings, to leave no emotion repressed. Years rolled by – now I'm on my own, no longer is Dad by my side. He taught me well, to trust myself, and to let Life become my guide. I feel him close by in nature, murmuring gently on the breeze; he inspires me on a mountain and sailing on turbulent seas. Encouraging from a distance,  Dad gifted me wings of free choice; now I'll write my own fair passage, for I have found my inner voice. We all need a trusty anchor and a star to safely steer by. We grow into our uniqueness, then cast off and, solo, we fly.
