A Minute Poem Entry

Amazing Mimic

by June Sargent

It woke us up one summer's eve.
Could not believe -
a car alarm
could cause such harm.

The blaring car we had to find -
I'll lose my mind!
We searched the block
and were in shock.

''Twas just a mimic we had heard -
a mockingbird,
who'd changed his tune
to laughing loon.

A mockingbird can actually sound like a car alarm, a barking dog, crickets, and a variety of birds. They can be amusing- and annoying at times! By the way, this was a true story...it happened to our son and his family.
