Two more stories to ponder
THE OLD WELL
An old well, left abandoned when the farm house burned down, seemed
to be a favorite spot for a little girl to play. I was told that years ago a family of five were
the last to occupy the house. The couple had three children, two boys and one girl. The girl was the middle child. The old well was located a few yards from the house. Although her family had told her many times to stay away from the well, she paid no attention to the warnings. One evening, when she didn't respond to her mother's calling, the father went looking for her. The old well was the first place he looked. Her body was found floating in the well. Her death was deemed accidental but her parents believed a man, who lived alone in a nearby farm, threw her into the well. He seemed to have a weird attraction to the girl. Her dress was badly torn which led investigators to believe she struggled before falling into the well. The dress was the only indication of foul play. The suspect was questioned but released. The dress was thought to be insufficient evidence, Nearby farmers reported to have seen the little girls ghost many times, still playing around the old well. Advice, cover all old wells. Was she murdered? Or was her death an accident? FACT OR FICTION? YOU DECIDE.
THE RIDE
Horseback riding can be a very good/fun thing, but don't ride alone.
Years ago, there was a horse boarding ranch located on a seldom used road.
A young woman went there every evening, after work. She was advised to not ride alone, but she just scoffed at the warnings, Her rides normally lasted about two hours. One evening, she saddled up and left the ranch as usual. A short time into the ride, her horse returned to the barn alone. The owner of the ranch went to look for her. A short time into his search, he located the woman. She had apparently been thrown from her horse and was laying across the riding trail.
It was believe a snake or some animal spooked the horse. Snakes and other wild animals were often seen by riders. The woman was apparently killed by her fall from the horse. After the woman's funeral, other riders reported seeing her body laying across the riding trail. The body disappeared as the riders drew closer. Because of the many sightings of the woman, they closed the trail due to lack of use. FACT OR FICTION? YOU DECIDE.
