A Finoacci Spiral Poem for Potlatch Poetry

If I . . .

by damommy

If
I
were to
listen to
the rumors I hear,
all gossip and none of them true,
I’d soon have no free time, and all else would disappear.
To sit and ponder what was told –
what a boring life -
would soon be
old stick,
just
sick.
Sick
I’d be
if I don’t
focus on good things.
Don’t pay attention to hocus,
but see butterflies, daffodils, and all birds that sing.
My days will be much happier
and much snappier.
Steer that way
today,
all
days.
