My husband, myself and border collie
Live in contentment and harmony
Alpha male, then second in command
And last, but not least, this brilliant hound

Sasha senses the moment I wake
Further sleep I just cannot fake
A paw comes up and she nuzzles me
Her eyes seem to say " now acknowledge me"

So, as not to awaken the alpha male
A mimed instruction I have to entail
I mouth the word "ball" and she hurries away
Returning in minutes, with the ball to play

For a first cup of tea, when there's only she and me
Sasha follows instructions to the very last tee
But should her boss just walk into the room
Her orders are then taken only from him

As we are now placed in self isolation
My husband takes Sasha for her night ambulation
In forest next door, out of human contact
Sasha never strays and to every command will react.
