Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level
Time, alas, is fleet of foot

Life is Short in the Long Run

by Elizabeth Emerald

Though you keep what you've caught
In the short run
They will sell all you bought
In the long run

Though you won what you fought
In the short run
No one gives it a thought
In the long run

Though you learn what is taught
In the short run
You don't know what you ought
In the long run

Though you find what you've sought
In the short run
It will all come to naught
In the long run
