If you've known me long enough,
you've seen me impressively rise,
climbing to skyscraper heights,
then watched the fall and decline
of the progress I've refined
doggedly disappear into thin air.

Once it reappears, it coincides
with plenty of help, on my side,
to harness attachment to the task
of raising my self-awareness,
and I begin to achieve
my inherent worthiness-weave.

Each time, hoping this time's the one
the rise won't be accompanied
by a downward descent
toward a bevy of behaviors
of worn out coping skills
I must reinvent.

This is an ever evolving, devolving,
continuous cycle of growth.

I ask myself:
will this quizzical cycle ever cease?
And if it does, will it end on a high note,
allowing the presence of peaceful release?
