Nobody can make that guitar sing like Stevie could. Nobody.
I had the distinct honor and pleasure to see Stevie Ray Vaughn as he and his band Double Trouble headlined for The Fabulous Thunderbirds in 1987 on the Riverboat 'The President' in New Orleans. It is a concert I will never forget...
At his final gig (East Troy, WI, 1990), fans were treated to an encore jam including Jimmie Vaughan (Stevie's brother), Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Buddy Guy and Stevie Ray. Shortly after, he boarded a helicopter which crashed just minutes after take-off, killing everyone on board. Stevie Ray was 35 years old. And THE SKY IS still CRYING...
'The Sky Is Crying' is the fifth and final studio album of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble released fourteen months after his death (November 5, 1991).
