Purple Haze

by Janet Foor

A haze of purple permeates the air
and sifts into the corners of my mind.
The evening breeze blows gently through my hair
allowing me to let my world unwind.

The scent of lavender is like a balm.
Its haze of purple permeates the air.
This aromatic fragrance keeps me calm --
sustained by all the memories we share.

A labyrinth of beauty is most fair
as night is closing in and day is gone.
A haze of purple permeates the air
and through the pending darkness, I am drawn.

The echoes of the night are all around.
But I am lost in music – unaware.
A tour de force of harmony abounds.
A haze of purple permeates the air.
