Bill Discovers Emberliam

CURTAIN OPENS ON BILL'S PATIO
A wooden railing surrounds the area. There is a round glass table to the left with a large open umbrella in its center and two sturdy folding chairs beside. In center stage is a porch swing that has room for three. On the right is a portable barbecue with its lid open.
A man enters from the left and sits in the center of the porch swing.
BILL
Soach a lubbly day. I coo stay hut here aw obtanoon.
From the right enters a little girl who looks to be about five years old. Bill notices her.
BILL
Hallo leeto goll.
EMILY
Greetings, man of many years.
BILL
Wo bling yo here -- moy I aks?
EMILY
We have come to collect you, Sir.
BILL
(chuckling) Wail, dots untrestun. Ooh's Whey.
From the left enters a little boy about the age of three. Bill notices the boy.
LIAM
Greetings, ancient one.
BILL
Yo muss bah Whey.
LIAM
No. I am Liam. We have come to collect you.
BILL
Yo min yo an Imily?
LIAM
There is another.
From the right enters a little girl about the age of one, or less, who works her way past the barbecue, then staggers to the swing.
KIMBERLY
Pa Pa
BILL
Sa ahm you Pop, huh?
KIMBERLY
Is that what I said, Dude?
BILL
Ah, well --
KIMBERLY
We are here to collect you, Gramps.
BILL
Yo tock vunny fa a lidda goll.
Without any prompting, Kimberly runs to Liam and jumps onto his back. She eventually sits on his shoulders. Liam then steps onto a folding chair, up to the table top, and then climbs on Emily's shoulders.
BILL
Kawite impwessoff.
KIMBERLY
We have come to collect you.
BILL
Wah we go?
KIMBERLY
You have to get the bratz and burgers started on the grill.
BILL
Mebbe ah doan wan ta dah dat.
The three children walk behind the large umbrella and emerge as a huge robot.
ROBOT
We are Emberliam. We have come to collect you.
BILL
Otkay.
Bill and Emberliam hold hands and walk off to the right.

Emily, Liam, and Kimberly are my grandchildren. I talk funny for them and they seem to like it. No, Kimberly cannot talk beyond dada, papa, and mama.
