Aretha Franklin Tribute

by nomi338

I hope this tribute does not sound too sappy
To hear Aretha sing makes me "So Damn Happy"
All negativity I do reject
I will stand in line to give the queen "Respect"

Aretha was the Queen of soul and she had no lack
She knew what it meant, To Be "Young Gifted And Black"
Most people loved her and I think that we should
Many men wanted to be her "Doctor Feelgood"

If in your life, you were missing a spark
Aretha suggested you find that "Spirit In The Dark"
If while dancing she felt that something was wrong
She would tell the DJ: "Don't Play That Song"

Aretha had a special someone
Who made her feel like a "Natural Woman"
in a time of heartbreak she had the tools
To break the links in a "Chain Of Fools"

Aretha saw that her end was in sight
So, she chose to go out with a soulful goodnight
She and Sam Cooke said it as one
Goodbye dear friends, our "Change Is Gonna Come".

Recognized

It was a struggle to not try and list all the titles this legendary singer recorded over he extended career. I am well aware that I excluded many titles, but I had to draw the line somewhere.
Pays one point and 2 member cents.
