5-7-5 bye bye blackbird writing prompt entry

Writing Prompt Write a three-lined poem with a syllable count 5-7-5 where line one has 5 syllables, the second line has 7 syllables and the last line has 5 syllables. The topic is bird or birds. Creative approaches welcome. |
Merl -another name for blackbird
Pete was my talkative cat. He always hoped to catch a merl/ blackbird that fed everyday in our green patch .. the critter got a kick in provoking Pete ..he knew that Pete , being over weight, was too slow.
I 'm sure in his cat dreams Pete caught the critter more than once. ( biggrin )
