Wish I Could Write What I See

by Barb Hensongispsaca

I do wish I could write the words
as well as God can paint a scene,
but every word I try to use
is not exactly what I mean.

He paints the sunset, oh, so fine,
each color manifests the next.
In twinkling skies, He talks to us,
it is His form of Heav'nly text.

The rainbow promise of God's love -
I can't describe the colored hues.
They just won't come, the beauty's there
beyond descriptions I can do.

I want to write down what I see -
the colors, beauty, heart-felt peace,
but there are just no words to use
to try to tell you what I see.

The royal blues, majestic whites,
the earthly browns, the grassy greens ...
perfection is just what I see,
but words will never come, it seems,

I want to write what lies beyond,
I want to write emotions bare.
Until I touch the hand of God
my writing will be only fair.
