Author Notes:
Pakistan...is much more than just the sum of what media portrays! All countries and states have their own challenges just as my country has its own. You have to search for beauty and pureness regardless of what might seem to be on the surface.
The 1st stanza shows us Pakistan with all its problems and the way media highlights them in a one-sided way. And we kind of deserve that for having zero standing at the international level by never telling our side of the story. That is pretty much a no brainer.
The 2nd stanza is the part about finding beauty and pureness underneath the rougher outlook.
The last stanza is where my patriotism and beliefs come to the fore...which remind me that this is my identity and everything I have ever known. So, it is up to me to be better as a person and a citizen and portray that positive side of my country that only a few people can currently see!
I pray that Pakistan finally manages to shrug off the things that hinder it and find the pathway to true progress! It is a land of unlimited yet unfulfilled potential. To fulfil that potential is the silver lining I hope for!
