Depression Stinks

by Roxanna Andrews

Depression stinks there is no doubt.
At times you want to cry or scream and shout.

This time it has hung on for way to long,
it started in November, usually by now, it's gone.

I saw my psychiatrist the other day,
to see what he might have to say.

"You've been on the same meds for way too long.
I do believe something is very wrong.

I'll give you a better med that should do the trick,
but don't stop the old too quick.

Wean off it slowly while taking the new,
then call me in 3 weeks if it's working for you."

I started the new and am praying for no side effects,
hoping too, this is the right med and dosage is correct.

I hope to be back to my wonderful self in short time,
so I can be happy again and make better rhyme.

I have been struggling with depression since mid November. My Psy said I had been on the old too long and he didn't really like that med for people. He is the PA so hasn't been the one prescribing it.

So I started a new med just this week and am very nervous. I tend to have so many side effects, my old med had none that I could tell, so liked it. But if it is no longer working not much sense in taking it.

Also my older sister, whom I live with, has also been having depression problem. This runs in our family. I have never seen her like this and I think it has added to my feeling of depression, worrying about her. We are just a really fun pair. ={ So she will see the same PA next week, she is on the same meds I'm on and she will no doubt be changed to new as well. I am praying for good results for both of us.

Anyway I have not been posting or reading much. ={ Poo!
