Weekly Rendezvous

I don’t know
his name,
but
I can’t live without him.
Once a week,
I wake
to
grinding motors
of
his big truck,
crashing and smashing,
then
slamming
 of the big cover
to crush garbage.
Yesterday,
I watched as he zipped
his vibrant vest
before
his heavy work boots
stomped
on the running board.
Back in the seat,
he waved
his big gray gloved hand
and moved on.
