Broken Hearted

by Dolly'sPoems

I failed to see her sorrow here,
my dearest Mother lost her cheer,
I fear she dwelled upon the past,
where shadows of her hell were cast.

And into darkness were her thoughts,
so caught in sadness, out of sorts,
support was lacking in her life,
misunderstood, and lonely wife.

I heard her tears, but I was much too young to know,
that year she lost her father, tears would overflow.

Now looking back, I understand,
unplanned is loss, at God’s command,
demands of life that tear apart,
when grief broke-up my Mother’s heart.
