A Happy Ending

A Child of War

by Lil' Mormon Boy

As a small child of World War Two
I was born, 1942.
I'd not ever know dad,
Only father I had;
He died on a ship with his crew.

I grew, 'cause my mother was strong;
Getting up working hard all day long.
She would never complain,
And would always maintain
She was blessed even though things went wrong.
