Looking back...

Reflection in Time

Lovely young lady sitting there,
she's the woman that once was me.
I'm the one in the mirror now;
I am her future that you see.

I think of all the love to come
and all the friends that she will meet.
The parties that she'll dress up for
and studies that she will complete.

She can't see me in this mirror,
the future's still, to her, unknown.
If I could share one thing with her,
I'd thank her for the love she's shown.
